President’s Message
Welcome to the 2026–2027 Symphony League Year
The Symphony League proudly welcomes all members, Board members, advisors, and supporters to the 2026–2027 season. Excitement is building for a meaningful and engaging year filled with opportunities to support the Symphony while connecting with fellow members and the community.
Since January, League leadership has been preparing a wide variety of activities and volunteer opportunities for members. Programs throughout the year will include support for Family and Children’s Concerts, participation in the Music Book Drive, and numerous Social Connections events, including Book Club, the B# Series, the Fall Membership Luncheon, Holiday Party, Spring Membership Meeting, and the President’s Luncheon. These gatherings offer wonderful opportunities to meet fellow members, bring guests, and enjoy the spirit of the League together.
This season will also feature several exciting fundraising events that support the League’s ongoing mission and continued dedication to the Symphony. Members are encouraged to participate in Golden Notes, Jazz and Casino Night, Pop-Up Pickleball, ICON, and several surprise events planned throughout the year. Additional details will be shared monthly. The season will also include Opening Night, the fabulous Symphony Ball, and the highly anticipated Wine Dinner chaired by two League members.
The League’s mission remains focused on supporting the Symphony’s goals and objectives while increasing community involvement and outreach through educational programming and the Family Concert Series. Members are encouraged to volunteer and experience the excitement of welcoming children arriving at Jones Hall for the Children’s Concerts. Special Symphony packages created exclusively for League members will also be available throughout the season.
The League looks forward to working alongside Gary Ginstling, Barbara McCelvey, and Phillip Smith during the upcoming year.
The theme for the 2026–2027 season is Every Note Tells a Story. Every member, every patron, and every child experiences music in a unique and personal way. Through the power of music and imagination, each note helps tell a story that connects the community through the Symphony’s artistry and mission.
This season also marks the celebration of 90 years of League support for the Symphony. The League proudly honors the vision of Ima Hogg and the generations of supporters who helped build this remarkable legacy. Members are invited to celebrate this milestone season and help continue the Symphony’s story for the next 90 years.
